Ready for Weather by Sarah Jones6/8/2023 ![]() ![]() It was Isabelle's first ever junior parkrun- welcome to the parkrun family! Our first female finisher was Nancy (Barnaby's sister- they're a speedy family!) in a time of 9mins 20 secs. There was a great sprint to the line between our third and fourth finishers and Nate just managed to overtake Joseph. This week our first finisher was Corey again, with a time of 7mins 41 secs. She's right in the middle of this weeks start line picture: We had a visitor from Perth, Australia today. ![]() When he is running he always has seems to have a smile on his face too. ![]() He is super speedy and he has been our first finisher at 7 of those 8 runs! We love seeing Corey running across the park making it look easy with his very relaxed running style. ![]() The second was for Corey who completed 8 of his 11 junior parkruns at Long Eaton. Both were for completing 11 junior parkruns which is the distance of a half marathon. The first was for Adam who has completed every single junior parkrun we've had at Long Eaton! That is pretty special- well done, Adam. The run brief was pretty special today because it included two wristband presentations. The grey, drizzly weather was cheered up by the sight of all those bright coloured running clothes and happy faces. It was a nice surprise to see 36 juniors joining us for a post Christmas run. We thought the children might all be too exhausted from late nights over Christmas and too much chocolate. This morning we wondered whether anyone would join us to run. ![]()
